Engineering fast bias-preserving gates on stabilized cat qubits

چکیده
Stabilized cat codes can provide a biased noise channel with set of bias-preserving (BP) gates, which significantly reduce the resource overhead for fault-tolerant quantum computing. All existing schemes BP however, require adiabatic evolution, performance limited by excitation loss and nonadiabatic errors during gates. In this paper, we apply derivative-based leakage-suppression technique to overcome errors, so that implement fast gates on Kerr-cat qubits improved gate fidelity while maintaining high bias. When applied concatenated error correction, not only improve logical rate but also overhead, enables more efficient implementation

Protected gates for superconducting qubits
We analyze the accuracy of quantum phase gates acting on “0-π qubits” in superconducting circuits, where the gates are protected against thermal and Hamiltonian noise by continuous-variable quantum error-correcting codes. The gates are executed by turning on and off a tunable Josephson coupling between an LC oscillator and a qubit or pair of quits; assuming perfect qubits, we show that the gate...
متن کاملTwo-qubit gates for resonant exchange qubits.
A new approach to single-qubit operations using exchange interactions of single electrons in gate-defined quantum dots has recently been demonstrated: the resonant exchange qubit. We show that two-qubit operations, specifically the controlled phase gate, can be performed between resonant exchange qubits very straightforwardly, using a single exchange pulse. This is in marked contrast to the bes...
متن کاملIntegrated photonic quantum gates for polarization qubits
The ability to manipulate quantum states of light by integrated devices may open new perspectives both for fundamental tests of quantum mechanics and for novel technological applications. However, the technology for handling polarization-encoded qubits, the most commonly adopted approach, is still missing in quantum optical circuits. Here we demonstrate the first integrated photonic controlled-...
متن کاملQuantum Logic Gates in Superconducting Qubits
Successful operation of a quantum computer will require unprecedented control of quantum systems. The basic qubit operations, quantum logic gates, are described by the linear Schrodinger equation: the “analog” nature of quantum state evolution makes these logic gates fundamentally sensitive to imperfections in control and loss of energy. In contrast, conventional digital logic can correct error...
متن کاملDegeneracy-Preserving Quantum Nondemolition Measurement of Parity-Type Observables for Cat Qubits.
A central requirement for any quantum error correction scheme is the ability to perform quantum nondemolition measurements of an error syndrome, corresponding to a special symmetry property of the encoding scheme. It is in particular important that such a measurement does not introduce extra error mechanisms, not included in the error model of the correction scheme. In this Letter, we ensure su...
